The primary strategic objective of the project related to the creation of a permanent co-management mechanism and a culture of sustainable development in the cross border area, contribute a lot to the
program as it refers to:

a) The protection and the development of the ecosystem, the biodiversity and the natural resources of lake Doiran through a permanent, sustainable management system and through specific measures.

b) The minimization of negative impact caused by current and future natural changes and human activity through the implementation of a short-term and long-term managerial and strategic plans.

c) The implementation of a sustainable development plan in various areas such as agricultural production and tourism planning a master plan for the eco-system.

d) The active involvement of the citizens in protecting the environment

e) The long term planning to establish a resilient capacity building
