Macedonian Scientific Association of Bitola, was established in 1960, with about 20 regular members, with the task to unite the scientific-research (fundamental and applied) activity, not only of the members from the Southwest region of the Republic of North Macedonia, but also from all over the country and abroad.

Today, the Association has about 300 members (5 Honorary, 253 Regular & 42 Correspondence) with a lot of Academicians, PhD’s and Masters of Science or Art. The remaining 46 members are well-known and recognized scholars, artists, writers, innovators or racionalizators. They are grouped into seven departments and six centers:

• Safety & quality of food,
• Center for lobbying,
• Folklore and Ethnology,
• Energy and Environment,
• Applied Arts and
• Center for journalism and information

The Association employs 2 people and occasionally, involves part-time associates, as well as the 40 volunteers we have engaged to perform certain application or administrative activities.
